“I am terrified by this dark thing
That sleeps in me;
All day I feel its soft, feathery turnings, its malignity.”

She makes fear sound like a terrible, divine thing…I haven’t read Sylvia Plath yet, shame on me?

Not shame, but she’s wonderful, and her poetry’s full of that kind of power, divine sadness – I think you’d like her.

Looks like I’ve got to check her out one of these days, sounds like she’s up my alley for sure. Thanks!

Glad to help. I need to read more of her too. I would just say though to be careful if reading too much of her at once, like if reading the Bell Jar, as it can become very saddening. Just strength required to read I think.

I see..I’ll try to take note of that too somehow! Maybe a book per library visit, lol
