The Dead Tree

Hollowness, like the dead tree
I always admired, with bark flaked
away now, drifting into the air
like moths, flying ships which
carry dreams to far off places.

Forgotten land, come back
to me. The message got lost, I can’t
see how you could find me here. The
leaves are falling. Tell me what you
meant, I’ll try to find the answers.

Like a sculpture now you sit, like me.
Our dreams have drifted away.
But so have you. I search the earth
for answers, they’re leading me to far
off places. Messages, come through.
